Stars Blanket and Pillow Crochet Pattern
The Stars Blanket and Pillow Cover are crocheted, join-as-you-go projects. Once you make the main color motifs, you join colors as you go to create the “stars.” Each blanket and pillow cover are unique since you’re the one deciding which color belongs where. Use the colors suggested in the pattern, or choose a palette to match your world. The blanket and pillow cover are shown in alternate colors to give you an idea of the versatility of this pattern.
YARN
For the blanket: Brooklyn Tweed Arbor (45 yds, 150g)
MC: Porter, 11 skeins
CCs: 2 skeins of each in Viridian, Mesa, Morandi, Degas, Tincture '
For the pillow::
MC: Drops Lima in off white (3 balls or approximately 300 m of a similar weight)
CCs: 1 ball each of Drops Lima in Goldenrod, Cerise, Green, Navy Blue, and Sea green (only a small amt is required, so you could use any leftover heavy DK or light worsted weight wool.
HOOK: A 5 mm hook (or size required to obtain gauge).
GAUGE:
One 4-motif “star” should measure approximately 5” x 5” tip to tip.
A part-1 MC motif should measure about 3” in length and 1.5” wide at centre.
MEASUREMENTS/SIZING
Instructions are for a throw that will measure approximately 47” x 55”. Feel free to make smaller or larger as desired (yarn requirements stated are for the throw size).
Pillow instructions are for an 18” x 18” pillow.
